About EMPAC
EMPAC Risk Retention Group is a professional liability insurance company formed under the Liability Risk Retention Act (LRRA) of 1981 as amended in 1986. EMPAC was formed by Emergency Medicine physicians seeking a viable, long-term alternative to the traditional insurance market.
A Risk Retention Group (RRG) is a liability insurance company that is owned by its members. One of the key advantages is the control members obtain over their liability programs. This control translates into lower rates, broader coverage, effective loss control/risk management programs, participation in favorable loss experience, access to reinsurance markets, and stability of coverage, notwithstanding insurance market cycles.
EMPAC is a single specialty RRG insuring Emergency Medicine groups. Our emphasis on board certification and residency training in emergency medicine coupled with stringent underwriting and strong risk management has proven successful. We are proud to announce our members will receive a dividend disbursement in 2008.
EMPAC is managed by a Board of Directors appointed by the members. The Board of Directors includes practicing insured physicians and experienced insurance professionals. EMPAC Managers, the Attorney-In-Fact, supervises the daily operations for EMPAC RRG. We encourage involvement from all members and invite participation in Board and Committee meetings.
We are a strong financial organization with a commitment to long term stability in a volatile marketplace.
